Last Thursday we shared some precautionary measures around the World Skate Asian Street Skateboarding Championship 2020 in Singapore.

Following the developments with Corona Virus contagion, the Singapore Ministry of health has stepped up the country’s risk assessment from DORSCON Yellow to DORSCON Orange.

On 7 Feb 2020, Singapore's Ministry of Health discovered a few local cases of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) without any links to previous cases or travel history to China and have since introduced additional precautionary measures to minimise the risk of further transmission of the virus in the community.

These precautionary measures include advise to postpone large scale events, or go ahead with necessary conditions including registration and temperature checks for all spectators and attendees, and barring attendance of those that have travel history to high infectious regions.

World Skate and organizers’ priority is to protect the health and welfare of skateboarders and staff. Due to the given situation, we are forced to suspend the event until new notice to ensure we do not pose any risk to the athletes and spectators and also maintain the open and free access that is a signature of skateboarding events.

The Millennial Events team is working with World Skate to ensure a date that fits in with the other Olympic Qualification events in the region.

We look forward to confirm the new dates before the end of this week, and look forward to hosting you in Singapore, in the recently refurbished Somerset Skatepark.
