A perfect sunny day with a light breeze during the evening made the show of the second day of road racing really enjoyable. Today was the turn of the 1 Lap race for Senior and long distance races 10000 points for Seniors and 20000 elimination for Juniors. More record have fallen today in this fast and spectacular road circuit of Nanjing.

The 20000 elimination for Junior Ladies was not a walk. A lot of pushes and faults made the race pretty nervous especially in the middle of the group.  The podium was a race between Italians and Colombians. During the last laps Beatrice Fausti and Veronica Luciani tried to anticipate the collaudate duo of Colombia, but Daniela Mendoza lead out for her teammate Gabriela Rueda who took the win. In between them Veronica Luciani could reach the second place.

For the boys same story with faults and pulls. It was a really hard race and the favorites skaters  were overtaken by the underdogs. To the Colombia team only a gold medal in the long distance race was missing and today Herreno Saul filled that gap. Gold for him, silver for Medard Indra from Belgium and bronze for Galli Gabriele, Italy.

Senior’s 10000 points race were a real proof of strength and resilience. Francesca Lollobrigida is like the director of the race. In fact, after the first attack from Argentinian Berbel Rocio, she took in her hands the destiny of the race. Francesca won with 15 points, followed by a very good performance of Tang Ho-Chen of Chinese Taipei with 7 points, and Jhoana Viveros from Colombia with 7 points as well. Plus a new World Record has been set by the Italian star.
In the men events looks like breakaways are the right weapon to win the races. The first attempted was made by Patxi Peula of Spain and Henry Stogdale from Australia, but a group of four athletes with Felix Rijhnen, Daniel Niero, Nolan Beddiaf and Mike Paez attacked few laps later with a really strong pace, catching enough points to ensure a good position. But when the peloton reached the four skaters, only Felix Rijhnen had the strength to leave again until the end of the race. Impressive performance from the German who won his first ever Gold medal at a World Championships with 17 points. Second place fo the Spanish Peula Francisco 10 points and 3rd place for Daniel Niero 8 points. New World Record for them as well.

After the awards, the spectacular 1 Lap races took place in front of the full stands. The tension, the focus and the adrenaline of the athletes could be felt even from the outside.

The Senior Ladies final were composed by Mareike Thum and Laethisia Schimek from Germany, Yesenia Escobar and Anhlly Perez from Colombia. As predicted Colombians girls took the lead until the end awarding Yesenia with gold and Anhlly with silver. Laethisia completed the podium.
For the Senior Men again 2 Colombians with Edwin Estrada and Andres Munoz, plus World Champion of yesterday's 100mt race, Ioseba Fernandez and last but not least Sung Ching-Yang from Chinese Taiepi.
Edwin was really craving for gold after a disappointing track championship. And with all he had in his body and mind conquered an amazing first place, followed by the great Ioseba and 3rd place for the legend Andres Munoz.
